ASKAT; Archaeology, Art, Culture and Research Society continues their work in Ankara. The group has 100 members which a considerable part of them have graduated from ODTU (Middle East Technical University).
During the “Marine Archaeology” seminars which were made in 8 sessions each for 2 hours in Autumn 2013, subjects of History of Marine Archaeology in Turkey, Maritime Cultural Heritage, Trade in the Mediterranean, Corporations that Conduct Marine Research in Turkey, Museums and Artifacts were discussed.
Head of Istanbul University’s Department of Restoration and Conservation of Movable Cultural Assets Assoc. Prof. Ufuk Kocabaş attended ASKAT’s meeting In Ankara on 28.12.2013 and gave a lecture to a group which consisted of 30-40 people about “Yenikapı Excavations” with the help of photographs and animations.
