The OLKAS Exhibition

]“From Aegean to the Black Sea Medieval Harbours” photograph exhibition was opened on 5 April 2013 Friday by Istanbul University’s Rector Prof. Dr. Yunus Söylet at Rahmi Koç Museum’s Lengerhane Exhibition Hall which was included in the OLKAS Project run by a partnership of Istanbul University and Cultural Awareness Foundation within the ENPI Black Sea Basın Cross Border Cooperatıon Programme.

The project was named OLKAS “From the Aegean to the Black Sea – Medieval Ports in the Maritime Routs of the East” and conducted by a widely participated platform with various corporations from Turkey, Greece, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia, Russia and Azerbaijan which is started in January 2012. In our country project studies are administered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ufuk Kocabaş Head of Department of Conservation of Marine Archeological Objects in Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters.

It stayed open to visit between the dates of 6 April – 6 October 2013.Yenikapı Shipwrecks were one of the focus points of the exhibition which were attained from the ongoing excavations of the Theodosius Harbor in Istanbul.
